DA and PA are Moz's third-party metrics, Google does not use them as ranking signals. Use them to qualify link-building prospects and compare domain strength, not to predict your own rankings. Your actual rankings depend on Google's own Quality scores.
A low DA with a high Spam Score is a red flag, the domain may have low-quality or manipulative links. Avoid acquiring links from sites with Spam Scores above 30%. Always combine DA/PA data with a manual review of the site's content quality.
A DA 40 link from a highly relevant niche site is worth more than a DA 80 link from an unrelated domain. Google values topical relevance heavily. Use DA/PA as a baseline filter, then prioritise relevance and editorial quality above pure authority score.
Domain Authority (DA) is a 1 to 100 logarithmic score developed by Moz that predicts how well a domain will rank in search engines, based on its total backlink profile. Page Authority (PA) measures the same for a specific page rather than the whole domain. Spam Score flags sites that share characteristics with penalised or banned sites, scored 1 to 17 (low/medium/high). Referring Domains is the number of unique root domains linking to the site, and is one of the strongest indicators of real authority. Scores are modelled on Moz's methodology and are directional indicators, cross-reference with Ahrefs DR or Semrush AS for a fuller picture.

No. Domain Authority and Page Authority are third-party scores from Moz, not metrics Google uses. They are useful for comparing sites and tracking your own trend, but Google does not rank by them.
Scores run from 1 to 100 on a logarithmic scale, so climbing from 20 to 30 is far easier than 60 to 70. Judge your score against direct competitors in your niche, not against giant sites.
Earn links from relevant, trusted sites, publish content worth linking to and keep your own site technically clean. Authority is a byproduct of doing the fundamentals well, not something you buy.
