Schema Markup Generator

Pick a type, fill in the fields and copy the JSON-LD with its script tag. Only fields you fill appear in the output.

One honest rule. The markup must describe content actually visible on the page. Invisible claims are what got FAQ rich results killed in 2026. Fill in what the page really shows, paste, publish, then validate the live URL.

Generate Schema in 3 Steps

1

Pick the Page Type

Article for posts and guides, Product for anything with a price, Organization for your about or home page, Event for dated happenings and Breadcrumb for your navigation trail. All five still earn rich results in 2026.

2

Fill What the Page Shows

Only the starred field is required, everything else is optional and only fields you fill appear in the output. Describe what is actually visible on the page, the price shown, the real author, the true dates.

3

Paste and Validate

Copy the block, script tag included, into the head of the page it describes. After publishing, run the live URL through a structured data validator to confirm the page qualifies for its rich result.

What is schema markup?

Schema markup is a machine-readable description of your page, written in a standard vocabulary and placed in the page head as JSON-LD. Where a human reads your article and infers the author and date, a search engine reads the markup and knows them. That certainty is what qualifies pages for rich results, the enhanced listings with stars, prices, dates and images that earn more clicks at the same position.

The landscape narrowed in the last few years, and this tool reflects it. Google retired HowTo rich results in 2023 and removed FAQ rich results from Search in May 2026, both after years of mass misuse, markup pasted onto pages it did not describe. What survives is the set this generator covers, Article, Product, Organization, Event and BreadcrumbList, plus LocalBusiness, which has its own dedicated generator on this site.

Being precise about what markup does keeps expectations honest. It is not a ranking factor, a page does not climb because it carries JSON-LD. It changes understanding and presentation, the engine classifies the page correctly, and eligible pages get the richer listing whose extra space and detail lift click-through. That is the deal, visibility enhancement in exchange for accurate description, and it only holds while the description stays accurate.

Everything happens in your browser. The details you type never leave your device, nothing is stored or logged, and the output arrives pre-wrapped in its script tag, one paste into the page head and the job is done. Where schema fits in AI search. Google's first generative-AI search guidance, published in May 2026, said plainly that structured data is not required for AI Overviews or AI Mode and there is no special markup that earns a citation. What markup still does is describe your page unambiguously for the Knowledge Graph, which is why accurate Article, Product and Organization data remains worth adding, as a grounding signal rather than a ranking trick, exactly as Google Search Central frames it.

Which schema type fits which page?

Your pageUse this typeRich result you can earn
Blog post or guideArticleHeadline, image, date and author in enhanced listings
Anything with a priceProductPrice, availability and star rating under the listing
Home or about pageOrganizationBrand knowledge panel signals, logo and profiles
Workshop, webinar, launchEventDate, venue and ticket details in event listings
Any page in a site hierarchyBreadcrumbListA clean path in the result instead of a raw URL
Physical or local businessLocalBusinessUse the dedicated local schema generator on this site

Two rows deserve a caution each. Product's star rating only belongs on pages with real, visible reviews, marking up ratings that do not exist on the page is the exact behaviour that gets rich results revoked. And Article's author fields are worth filling properly, name and profile URL, because clear authorship is one of the signals that separates credible content from anonymous filler. Match the markup to the page, never the other way around.

Get Rich Results and Keep Them

👁️

Mark Up Only What Shows

The whole history of retired rich results, HowTo in 2023, FAQ in 2026, is the history of markup describing things pages did not visibly contain. The safe rule is mechanical, if a visitor cannot see the price, rating, date or author on the page, it does not belong in the schema.

🧪

Validate After Publishing

The code here is always syntactically valid, but eligibility is judged on the live page. After pasting, run the URL through the schema validator on this site and Google's Rich Results Test. What they catch is mismatch, a price that changed, an empty required field, a date format the type does not accept.

🔄

Update Markup With the Page

Schema goes stale the moment the page changes, a product price rises, an event date moves, an article gets rewritten. Stale markup is worse than none, because it actively misdescribes the page. Make regenerating the block part of every meaningful page edit, it takes under a minute here.

A Free Schema Generator Built for the 2026 Reality

This free schema markup generator builds paste-ready JSON-LD as you type, for the five types that still earn Google rich results, Article, Product, Organization, Event and BreadcrumbList. Only the fields you fill appear in the output, the script tag comes included, and dropdowns handle the values that trip people up, currencies and availability states. There is no sign-up, no credit card and no limit.

Most schema generators are still selling 2019. They lead with FAQ and HowTo builders years after Google retired both rich results, HowTo in 2023, FAQ in May 2026, handing people code that changes nothing. Over 17+ years of SEO across 500+ projects, the lesson has stayed the same, structured data pays when it truthfully describes visible content, and turns worthless the moment it chases a feature. This generator covers only the types that still show, and says so plainly.

It also fits a structured data workflow. Generate the block here, then check the published page with the free schema validator, build LocalBusiness markup with the free local schema generator, audit the page overall with the free SEO analyzer, or explore all the free SEO tools on this site.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is schema markup?

Schema markup is structured data, a block of JSON-LD code in your page head that describes the page to machines in a standard vocabulary. It tells search engines this page is an article by this author published on this date, or a product at this price in this currency. Search engines use it to understand content with certainty instead of guessing, and for supported types they reward it with rich results, the enhanced listings with prices, stars, dates and images.

Which schema types still earn rich results in 2026?

Product, Article, Organization, Event, LocalBusiness, Review and BreadcrumbList remain active, which is exactly why this generator covers them. The list has narrowed, Google retired HowTo rich results in 2023 and removed FAQ rich results from Search in May 2026, after years of mass misuse. The pattern is consistent, display features that get gamed at scale are withdrawn, while markup that truthfully describes real page content keeps earning its place.

Why does this tool not generate FAQ or HowTo schema?

Because the reward is gone. FAQ rich results stopped appearing in Google Search on May 7, 2026, and HowTo was retired back in 2023, so generating those types today would hand you code that changes nothing in the results. Existing FAQ markup on your site is harmless, Google has said unused structured data causes no problems, so there is no need to rip it out. But for new pages, effort belongs on the types that still produce visible results.

Does schema markup improve rankings?

Not directly, and it is worth being precise. Structured data is not a ranking factor, a page does not climb because it carries markup. What it changes is presentation and understanding, rich results occupy more space and earn more clicks at the same position, and unambiguous data helps search engines classify the page correctly. The click-through gain is real, the ranking boost is a myth that sells tools.

Where do I paste the generated code?

Inside the head section of the page it describes, anywhere between the head tags. The output here comes pre-wrapped in its script tag, so it is paste-ready. In WordPress, most SEO plugins have a field for custom head code per page, or a header snippet plugin does the same job. One rule matters more than placement, the markup must describe content actually visible on that page, invisible claims are what got FAQ schema killed.

How do I check the markup is valid?

Run the finished page through a structured data validator after publishing, the schema validator on this site checks any live URL, and Google's Rich Results Test shows which enhancements the page qualifies for. The generator here always produces syntactically valid JSON-LD, so what validation really catches is the other kind of error, a required field left empty, a price that does not match the visible page, a date in the wrong format.

Why Hire Me to Sharpen Your Content

This free tool builds your structured data. If you would rather have your content written or rewritten to read clearly and rank, here are a few honest reasons businesses hire me as their SEO and content consultant in India.

Clear Writing That Still Ranks

The right length and the right keywords are not opposites. I write content that covers a topic fully and targets the right terms, so it is easy for people to read and easy for Google and AI to understand.

Hands-On, Not Just Oversight

I started as a technical SEO trainee, not in a management seat, and I still write and edit the content myself. You get direct expertise, not a brief handed off to a junior writer.

I Built This Checker Myself

The schema generator you just used, I built it, along with the other free SEO tools on this site. It is a direct look at how I think about clear content before you ever become a client.

Human Content in an AI World

AI drafts read stiff and generic. I edit content so it reads naturally at the right level, the kind of clear, human writing that keeps readers engaged and gets quoted in AI answers.

Direct Line to Me

Messages get a reply within 24 hours on business days, and WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach me for anything urgent. You are not waiting in a support queue.

Content Plus the Full Picture

Content length is one piece. Keyword research, on-page SEO and technical health all sit with one person who understands how they connect, so clear writing also becomes ranking writing.
