Keyword Research Tool

Enter any seed keyword below. The tool queries a live keyword database and returns hundreds of related keywords, each with real monthly search volume, difficulty, CPC and search intent.

Every keyword comes with its real monthly search volume, a 0 to 100 difficulty score and Google Ads CPC, pulled live for the country you select. An empty volume cell means the phrase is real but has no measurable volume in that market, which is often a low-competition long-tail opportunity.

What is keyword research?

Keyword research is the process of finding the words and phrases people type into a search engine, then measuring how many searches each one gets and how hard it would be to rank for it. A keyword research tool automates that lookup. You enter one seed term and it returns related keywords with their monthly search volume, a difficulty score and the cost per click advertisers pay.

Three numbers matter. Search volume tells you demand. Difficulty, scored 0 to 100, estimates how competitive the term already is. Search intent tells you why someone is searching, whether to learn something, compare options or buy. Matching intent to page type matters more than the keyword itself, because a page that answers the intent will outrank one that only repeats the words. Google says the same thing in its helpful content guidance.

Long-tail keywords, meaning phrases of four words or more, usually carry lower volume and lower difficulty. That is where a new site can realistically rank first.

Volume and difficulty are tendencies, not rules. Check each term in the tool above for its real numbers. Google's own guidance on what makes content rank is in the Search Central SEO starter guide.

Use Keywords Like a Pro SEO

🎯

Target by Intent First

Match keyword intent to page type. Informational → blog posts. Commercial → comparison pages. Transactional → product/service pages. Navigational → homepage/brand pages.

📈

Long-tail = Fast Wins

Long-tail keywords (4+ words) have lower difficulty and higher conversion rates. New sites should start here, rank fast, build authority, then go after head terms.

🗂️

Build Topic Clusters

Group related keywords into clusters with one pillar page and multiple supporting posts. This signals topical authority to Google and dramatically improves rankings across the whole cluster.

Give each page one primary keyword, then two or three close variations, not a dozen unrelated terms. A single focused page out-ranks one that chases ten things at once. This also prevents keyword cannibalisation, which happens when two of your own pages target the same keyword and the same intent, so Google cannot tell which to rank and ranks neither well. The keyword is almost a side note here. Intent is the thing. Two pages on the same term for the same reader compete, while two pages on the same term for different needs do not. When you do find two pages fighting, keep the stronger one and redirect the weaker into it, so the authority lands on a single URL. Map one primary keyword to each page before you write, and the problem rarely starts.

Where Does the Data Come From?

Keyword ideas and metrics come from a live keyword database, queried through our own server. Search volume is the average monthly Google searches for your selected country. Difficulty is a 0 to 100 score estimating how hard it is to rank organically. CPC is the average Google Ads cost per click in USD. Results are cached for 24 hours, so repeat searches return instantly. A dash means the keyword is real but has no measurable search volume in that market, which is often a genuine long-tail opportunity with low competition.

A Free Keyword Planner & Generator Built From Real Campaigns

This free keyword research tool turns one seed term into hundreds of real keyword ideas people actually type into Google. Enter a word or phrase and it works as a free keyword generator and keyword planner in one, pulling live keyword data with real monthly search volumes and grouping it by search intent, difficulty and long-tail opportunity. There is no sign-up, no credit card and no hidden volume ranges, so it is a truly free keyword planner alternative you can use as often as you like, for SEO, for your website or for Google Ads.

Google Keyword Planner is built for advertisers and hides real search volumes behind broad ranges unless you are running a campaign. Paid tools like Ahrefs and Semrush are excellent but cost more than most small businesses can justify early on. Over 17+ years running SEO across 500+ projects, I learned that beginners do not need 26 billion keywords, they need the right twenty. So this free keyword analysis tool surfaces the terms worth targeting first, the long-tail phrases with lower competition where a new site can actually rank, rather than a wall of data you cannot act on.

Keyword research is also changing. People now ask full questions to Google and to AI engines like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, so the long-tail, question-style keywords this free keyword analyzer tool finds are exactly what help you rank in search and get quoted in AI answers. Start with a seed keyword, sort by intent and difficulty, then build each page around one primary term and a few supporting phrases before running it through the free on-page SEO analyzer before you publish. Explore the full set of free SEO tools to cover the rest of your workflow.

One shift is worth building into how you read the list. Modern research is intent-first, not volume-first, so before chasing a big number, decide whether a term is informational, commercial, transactional or navigational, because a page that answers the wrong intent will not rank however hard you try. That is also where long-tail earns its reputation, roughly 92 percent of all searches are long-tail phrases and they tend to convert far better than head terms, which is why a handful of specific three and four-word queries usually beats one broad keyword. Mine them from People Also Ask, autocomplete and Related Searches, group them into topic clusters that build topical authority, and you cover the same ground Google now rewards, ranking in classic results and getting quoted in AI Overviews, where being cited no longer depends on sitting at position one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this keyword research tool really free?

Yes. This keyword research tool, keyword planner and keyword generator are 100% free with no sign-up, no credit card and no daily limit. You can run as many searches as you like, completely free, for SEO, for your website or for Google Ads.

Where do the keyword ideas come from?

The keyword ideas and their metrics come from a live keyword database built on real Google search data. Each keyword arrives with its actual monthly search volume, a difficulty score and Google Ads CPC for the country you select, so the ideas reflect what people actually search for, not a guess.

Is this a free Google Keyword Planner alternative?

Yes. Google Keyword Planner is built for advertisers and hides exact search volumes behind broad ranges unless you run ads. This free keyword planner gives you keyword ideas, search intent, difficulty and exact monthly search volumes instantly, with no ad account required, which makes it a practical alternative for SEO and content planning.

What is search intent and why does it matter?

Search intent is the reason behind a search, to learn, to compare or to buy. Matching your page to the right intent matters more than the keyword itself. A page that answers the intent will outrank one that just repeats the words.

How do I find low-competition keywords as a beginner?

Start with a broad seed term, then look at the longer, more specific suggestions the generator returns. These long-tail keywords usually have lower competition, so a new website can rank for them faster. Build one page around each primary term and a few supporting phrases.

Are the volume and difficulty numbers exact?

Search volume is the real average monthly Google searches for the country you select, taken from a live keyword database. Difficulty is a 0 to 100 competitiveness score. Because volumes originate in Google's own advertising data, very close variants of a keyword can share the same rounded figure, that is Google grouping them, not an estimate by this tool.

This free tool finds the keywords. If you would rather have a full strategy researched and mapped for you, here are a few honest reasons businesses hire me as their SEO and digital marketing consultant in India.

Keywords Mapped to Intent

A big keyword list is easy. Knowing which terms to target first, and which page each one belongs on, is the hard part. I map keywords to search intent and to your funnel, so every page has a clear job.

Hands-On, Not Just Oversight

I started as a technical SEO trainee, not in a management seat, and I still do the keyword research and on-page work myself. You get direct expertise, not a strategy handed off to someone else to execute.

I Built This Tool Myself

The keyword research tool you just used, I designed it, along with 22 other free SEO tools on this site. It is a direct look at how I approach keyword research before you ever become a client.

Long-Tail Wins for New Sites

New websites cannot win head terms on day one. I find the low-competition, long-tail keywords where you can rank now and build authority, then move up to the competitive terms over time.

Direct Line to Me

Messages get a reply within 24 hours on business days, and WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach me for anything urgent. You are not waiting in a support queue.

Built for Search and AI

Keyword research now feeds both Google and AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity. I plan the question-style, long-tail terms that help you rank in search and get quoted in AI answers.
