A sitemap helps search engines find and crawl your pages. It matters most for larger sites, new sites with few links or sites with pages that are hard to reach by clicking. Small, well-linked sites still benefit from one.
Submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Also add a Sitemap line to your robots.txt so every crawler can find it.
Update it whenever you add or remove pages. Many sites regenerate it automatically on publish. A stale sitemap that lists dead pages wastes crawl budget.
